The Sail For Epilepsy team is on a mission to sail the oceans of the world to raise awareness of epilepsy while encouraging those affected by epilepsy to live fuller lives, with any necessary safety measures in place. President Phil Haydon is a Professor of Neuroscience Emeritus at Tufts University School of Medicine and lives with medically controlled post-traumatic epilepsy.

Sail For Epilepsy shares the adventure of being offshore during their voyages, but this project is about more than sailing. During in-port events, Phil and his crew engage with the local community to share his story and hear about ways others are living a fuller life, despite epilepsy. He also gives presentations with the goal of raising awareness, educating the public about epilepsy, and teaching seizure first aid.
