Today at 12:01 ET Phil Haydon and Fearless were the 5th boat to cross the finish line in the solo leg of the 2023 Bermuda 1-2. The boats participating in this race are all of different models, so based on their rating, overall finish position and position within their class will be determined once all boats have finished and time corrections have been applied. Nine boats started in Class 1 with Fearless and it looks like she will have a 3rd place class finish. The results of the double-handed leg, which begins June 15th, will be combined with the results of this leg to determine the overall finish for the race.

Phil sailed a total of 692 nautical miles in an estimated elapsed time of 4 days, 1 hour, 1 minute and 33 seconds. This bests his time on Cepheus in 2019, when he sailed 695 nautical miles in an estimated elapsed time of 5 days, 16 hours, and 9 minutes.

After enduring a wide range of wind and sea conditions throughout this voyage, he will take a much needed rest, complete any necessary maintenance on Fearless, and be joined by co-skipper Jim Rudser for the return race back to Newport.
